A retrospective study on ectopic pregnancy aspiration by transvaginal ultrasound at Institute of Kidney Diseases And Research Centre

Background: Majority of the reports suggest that frequency ectopic pregnancies have grown in last 30 years, especially patients conceived through artificial reproductive techniques (ART). To prevent severe morbidity and mortality its prompt diagnosis appropriate management is important. In a select patient population, most unruptured, live can be successfully managed without surgical intervention using trans-vaginal ultrasound guided aspiration instillation local injection KCl or administration systemic Inj. Methotrexate. Methods: This study hospital based retrospective cohort from January 2014 to December 2022 on who presented Institute Kidney Diseases Research Centre (IKDRC) with unruptured pregnancy confirmed β HCG. All were analyzed according history, clinical presentation, investigations, treatment complications. Results: β-HCG day 1 2 post procedure dropped all cases but variable levels ranging 1.3% 85.88%, while drop during days 7-10, was more significant reassuring; ranged 48.69% 98.95%. Conclusions: By gestational sac transvaginally under ultrasonographic guidance it able preserve integrity uterus fallopian tube thus future fertility. The will educate other healthcare professionals.
